Student Cohorts

Connected Learning encourages you to join a student cohort. Cohorts combine your academic experiences with real-world professional skills required for your future success. Most cohorts run 2-4 quarters, while others can last a few years.

About Husky Catalyst

Many UW Bothell students currently miss out on key professional development opportunities. The Husky Catalyst Initiative helps bridge this gap by equipping students with skills essential for their careers. It will:

  • Enhance Career Readiness: Offer pathways to explore careers, build job skills, and gain hands-on experience, especially in technology and engineering.
  • Build Professional Networks: Connect students with faculty, staff, peers, alumni, and industry partners for career guidance and exploration.

To support these efforts, UW Bothell uses the Collaboratory in Discovery Hall as a dedicated space for student projects and connected learning, guided by faculty, staff, and community partners.

WSECU Initiative

WSECU has committed $80,000 annually for three years (2022-2024) to support the Husky Catalyst Initiative, funding three key programs for first-generation students:

  • Internships: Provides stipends, enabling students to participate in unpaid, career-connected internships.
  • Student Communities: Funds faculty and student stipends to foster learning communities focused on career development and social justice.
  • Credentialing: Supports staff and faculty in creating micro-credential opportunities for essential professional skills.

This initiative helps UW Bothell institutionalize support for first-generation students as it aims for national recognition as a First-Gen Forward Institution.
