Global Learning at UW Bothell
Study Abroad
Students can earn UW credits towards their degree by studying abroad. Most approved programs – ranging from two weeks to an entire year – are eligible for financial aid. Start your adventure now!
COIL Initiative
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses deepen global engagement in the classroom, without requiring travel abroad, by embedding online activities with international partners.
Global Scholars Program
Students from diverse backgrounds explore issues of diversity, difference, and identity as central to all global engagements and receive individualized support to pursue global opportunities locally and abroad. Applications are accepted in the fall and the program spans one calendar year.
Travel Resources
The Office of Global Affairs on the Seattle campus oversees important policies and manages resources for UW faculty, students and staff traveling internationally.
Challenging myself by embarking on a study abroad program allowed me to expand my definition of self. In Amsterdam, I learned that I am an explorer. I used to feel like I couldn’t do that on my own.

Intercultural Competence Toolkit
Intercultural competence and cultural humility are crucial frameworks and skillsets for successfully managing a diverse classroom or team. Our collaborative toolkit offers definitions, tools and activities to support instructors and facilitators.
International Students
Each year, our campus welcomes Huskies from around the world. The office of International Student Services guides students from the application process through orientation with the Orientation & Transition Program (OTP).
