You are a first-year student if you have not attended a college or university following the summer of your high school graduation or obtaining your GED.

An international student is an applicant who is not a United States citizen or permanent resident and plans to attend a college, university or other post-secondary education institution in the U.S.
Apply as an international studentPost-baccalaureate student
You are a post-baccalaureate student if you have earned a bachelor’s degree and are seeking admission for an additional bachelor’s degree and NOT a graduate degree.

You are a returning student if you have previously attended UW Bothell but did not complete your degree program.
Applying as a returning studentNon-matriculated student
You are considered a non-matriculated student if you are not pursuing a degree or certificate but are instead taking courses for personal enrichment, career advancement, salary increases, etc.
Applying as a non-matriculated studentFirst-year students have two deadlines to apply: an early action and a regular decision deadline. You’ll apply as a pre-major student and pick your major after you enroll.
If you are a transfer, returning or post-baccalaureate student, you apply directly to your major. Each major may have a different deadline date, so you’ll need to review the major application dates for the exact quarter and major you want to pursue.

A college degree requires planning, careful decision making and a commitment from both you and your family. We believe that students from all economic backgrounds should have the opportunity to attend the University of Washington Bothell and that finances should not be a barrier.
