Review
The Mathematics major is currently an “open” program with no set limit on the number of students admitted, so students can join at any time, even in their first year.
Suggested preparatory courses
Minimum grades. The Mathematics major has no entry prerequisites, but other courses in the major have registration prerequisites of 2.0 or higher in Calculus I, II, or III. The grades must be recorded on your unofficial or official transcript(s).
In-progress courses. You may take the courses below either before or after entry into the major, so any of them can be in-progress.
Transfer courses. View a compilation of equivalent courses at other UW campuses and Washington state colleges, as well as important notes on transferring courses.

- One-year Calculus series (3 quarters or 2 semesters)

- Matrix Algebra (or Linear Algebra)
- Must cover content equivalent to UW Bothell’s STMATH 208
- Multivariable Calculus
