Behavioral Health in Underserved Populations in King and Snohomish Counties
Dr. Hoa Appel and Dr. Mabel Ezeonwu are working on research with an engagement award from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Community collaborators include the Latino Educational Training Institute, Cultivate South Park, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Behavioral Health Program Launched
SNHS' Behavioral Health program for health care professionals was launched last autumn. The program's success has prompted program expansion plans. Every participant in the first cohort said they would recommend the course to peers and coworkers. SNHS dean, Shari L. Dworkin, said “I’m thrilled for the students and their patients, and so proud of our team for this program that will change how caregivers and providers care for the most vulnerable.”

W day celebrates the University of Washington's birthday. The W day celebration this year included the opportunity for students to write Thank You cards to frontline health care workers. Over 200 students participated and their cards were delivered to EvergreenHealth Kirkland.
