Students with Dependents Network

The Students with Dependents Network at UW Bothell is a community in which information, support, and resources are provided for the first-year and transfer students who self-identify as the primary support for another, whether it’s a child or adult. If you also identify with this network and would like to join or would like to learn more about it, sign up for our Husky+ session on August 23rd from 4-5pm. There are a number of resources available in the community and at the University of Washington Bothell for students with dependents. As part of your transition to UW Bothell, you will have the chance to learn more and connect with this Network and its members.

Resources:

On-Campus:

  • Title IX Resources for Students who are Parents: UWB has compiled a list of resources for students with children. These include childcare options, financial resources, and lactation rooms on campus.
  • Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Program: UWB has compiled a list of resources for students with children. These include childcare options, financial resources, and lactation rooms on campus.
  • HAWRC: The health and wellness resource center provide resources that can aid in financial matters like tuition, housing & transportation. The HAWRC also aids in student advocacy and wellness resources like a nurse hotline.

Local:

  • Child Care Aware of Washington: Non-profit organization that provides information and support for families seeking quality childcare, has access to quality early learning choices for their children, and prepare children for success.
  • Northshore YMCA: Local organization that provides crucial programs and services that strengthen communities, educate and nurture children, while promoting healthy living. Northshore YMCA childcare program provides kids with a strong start offering toddler childcare, preschool childcare, before & afterschool care.
  • Children’s Home Society of Washington: An organization that believes children should be living in homes and not institutions. Children’s Home Society of Washington supports healthy childhood development, creating strong
