Fieldwork During Remote Operations
Phoebe Keryte, Health Studies, is finishing her degree remotely, including her fieldwork project. Keryte, a member of the Navajo Nation, is focusing her project on the mental wellness and overall health of tribal elders.

Resilience Through Mindfulness Study
Participate in a research study using remote mindfulness and earn a $25 Amazon gift card. The study uses Zoom meetings or an app-based training to discover if remote mindfulness sessions reduce stress. Keeping Up with Shugla Kakar, HS ’20
Health Studies alum, Shugla Kakar is featured in the campus news this week. Before graduating, Kakar was the student body president, earned the 2020 University of Washington Bothell Chancellor's Medal, was named one of the Husky 100, and led the Muslim Student Association.

QSNA Scholarship: Undergrads & Alumni
The UW School of Nursing has been selected as the first academic partner in the United States to bestow the Queen Silvia Nursing Award (QSNA) for dementia care. Practicing registered nurses who have graduated from any of the three University of Washington nursing programs (UW Seattle, UW Bothell, or UW Tacoma) with a bachelor’s of science in nursing degree and current UW undergraduate student nurses may apply for the scholarship online through November 6, 2020. *Applications must include an idea or solution to addressing COVID-19 challenges in healthcare environment and special merit will be given for submissions that focus on the well-being of elderly and dementia-diagnosed communities.*

BSN Students Study COVID Impact on K-12 Schools
Robin Fleming, SNHS Lecturer, led students in their Population-Based Health in Community Practice course to work with the Northshore School District on researching the impact of COVID on re-opening K-12 schools.
