Barbara Noah leads study abroad in Rome and is selected for an upcoming exhibit at the BAM
IAS faculty member Barbara Noah was selected for Making Our Mark, Bellevue Arts Museum, Washington, curated by Michael W. Monroe, Director Emeritus of BAM, Curator-in-Charge of the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum. The exhibition will run from November 10, 2017 to April 2018. She also co-directed her 4th successful summer A term teaching a program she created, Interdisciplinary Studio Art & Italian Culture, a UW Study Abroad program at the University of Washington Rome Center. Students from UW Bothell, as well as the Seattle and Tacoma campuses, visited art and cultural sites in and outside Rome, explored concepts and processes in ancient through contemporary art and created studio art, informed by their experiences in Italy and their own interdisciplinary and research interests. Students also studied Italian language and culture, including topics such as immigration, Italian stereotypes, and Italian cinema.
