What is the Direct First-Year Admit Program?

At UW Bothell, the School of Business stands out as a distinguished institution, offering a comprehensive and competitive business education. We are committed to providing aspiring students with a direct pathway to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of business right from the beginning of their academic journey! The Direct First-Year Admit Program is designed for high school students who possess a keen interest in pursuing business studies, offering them the opportunity to apply directly to the UW Bothell School of Business alongside their UW Bothell application.

Students accepted into the Direct First-Year Admit (DFA) Business Program will join the School of Business at UW Bothell if they complete their Business Prerequisite courses before declaring a specific area of study in Business.

Upon joining this program, students will:

  • Be eligible for School of Business scholarship opportunities
  • Declare Business Administration as their major
  • Gain the opportunity to network with leading companies at School of Business events
  • Engage with a community of like-minded business students
  • Get involved in business specific clubs right away
  • Utilize the resources provided by the UW Bothell School of Business Career Services
  • Receive business-specific guidance from Academic Advisers from day one

  • High school students
  • Running Start students (directly from high school)

How to apply & admissions process

Ensure your application follows the first-year student application deadlines and take the following actions:

  1. Indicate your intended major is Business Administration
  2. List your participation in high school Business clubs
  3. Express an interest in the DFA Business Program in your application materials
  4. Complete your deposit
  5. Follow the instructions in your admission letter to confirm that you want to participate in the School of Business DFA program
