Rebecca Cavanaugh nursing alumna recongized for leadership
Inspiring, resilient, strong Nurse Rebecca Cavanaugh, UWB BSN '98, UW (Sea) MN '09 alumna received a honorable award called the School Nurse Administrator of the Year for 2018-19. It honors a school nurse who demonstrates excellence in school nursing practice and leadership. Nurse Cavanaugh oversees 38 school district nurses at 33 schools with about 23,000 students in Bothell, Kenmore and Woodinville.

UW School of Nursing & Health Studies receives top ranking from US News and World Report
"US News and World Report released its rankings of graduate and professional schools across the country, including nursing schools. The University of Washington School of Nursing was ranked #1 among public schools that offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and was ranked #4 overall. Additionally, the School was ranked #4 among public schools that offer a Master’s degree and was ranked #12 overall."

Master of Nursing student awarded Anna Bui World of Hope Fund
Anna Bui scholarship has impacted Samantha Bohn, a School of Nursing and Health Studies Master of Nursing student. Bohn received $1,000 toward a study abroad two week trip to Guatemala Village Health, a Seattle nonprofit organization.

Leadership master’s for nursing administration
Jennifer Collins says, “it was the step into leadership that helped me understand the importance of education that goes along with it.” She participated in School of Nursing and Health Studies Master of Nursing degree with the administrative leadership concentration. This concentration as a focus on business courses which is so valuable for nurses who are moving into higher administrative positions.

BSN alum named as Nurse Influencer
Stefan Torres, UW Bothell School of Nursing & Health Studies alumni, has been named as one of the 100 nurses recognized a Nurse Influencers by the UW Seattle School of Nursing. These nurses, whose connection to the UW go as far back as 1930, have made a commitment to improving lives in their communities.

Nursing students ask: Ready for a disaster?
Lecturer Dr. Bowman teaches BNURS 424 Population-Based Health in Community Practice, summer quarter 2018 works with Registered Nurses (RN) who are pursing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The students surveyed covered 17 zones designated by the city of Bothell's Emergency Preparedness Department.

Dr. Jerelyn Resnick, Senior Lecturer Emeritus
Congratulating Dr. Jerelyn Resnick on retirement and recognition of her teaching legacy at UWB. Dean Dworkin shares, "Dr. Jerelyn Resnick has worked tirelessly as a faculty member at UWB for 18 years, supporting students and the UWB campus. Given her history of inspiring and generous dedication, I am sad to tell you that she is retiring as of September 1, 2018. Her last day at work will be on August, 22, 2018. The news of her retirement is softened by the fact that Jerelyn will continue to teach with us on a part-time basis in the coming year(s) as Professor Dr. Jerelyn Resnick will be Senior Lecturer Emeritus."
