Mabel Ezeonwu, PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC, Professor
Dr. Ezeonwu holds a PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Washington and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently a Professor in the School of Nursing and Health Studies. She is also a board certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with a focus on primary care. She has expertise in nursing and global health curriculum development and implementation, and she teaches across undergraduate and graduate programs. Dr. Ezeonwu was the 2020 recipient of the prestigious UW Distinguished Teaching Award.
Scholarship:
Dr. Ezeonwu’s scholarship integrates global and local community health with emphasis on primary care and health care access issues. As an experienced clinician in maternal-infant care and primary care, she has passion for community-based interventions using community health education and collaborative partnerships as mechanisms for health promotion. She engages in glocal experiential learning. Her scholarly goals are to explore and support innovations in community and global public health pedagogy and clinical practice through collaborative localglobal partnerships in low-resources settings.
