Georgia Roberts, Nafasi Ferrell, and Brandon Washington participate in “Power, Justice & Freedom Through Education Summit”
IAS faculty member Georgia Roberts, MA in Cultural Studies student Nafasi Ferrell, and Media and Communication Studies major Brandon Washington participated in Franklin High School's annual "Power, Justice & Freedom Through Education Summit" on January 14th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

IAS faculty members and students participate in UW Ferguson and Beyond teach-in
Several IAS faculty and students participated in the UW-wide teach-in, “Ferguson and Beyond: Race, State Violence, and Activist Agendas for the 21st Century,” which was written up in the Seattle Times. IAS faculty members Dan Berger and Scott Kurashige presented on the panel "The Past is Always Present: Contextualizing US State Violence," and Wadiya Udell moderated the panel "#Blacklivesmatter: A Universal Call for Social Justice."
