Kari Lerum presents new research at American Sociological Association
At last month’s annual meeting of American Sociology Association, Professor Kari Lerum presented preliminary results of her ongoing study with trans and non-binary people in the sex trade. In partnership with three community partners who serve trans and sex worker communities (Aileen’s, Gender Justice League, and UTOPIA-WA), the goal of this research is to collect data about the experiences of local (PNW) trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals in the sex trade in order to better tailor local social services and policies.
This research has been funded in part by the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies and a UW Bothell Scholarship, Research, and Creative Practice (SRCP) seed grant.
