William Hartmann awarded grant to study Indigeneity and suicide
IAS faculty member William Hartmann was awarded a Royalty Research Fund Scholar grant to study how Indigeneity and suicide are (mis)represented in mental health research on American Indian and Alaska Native suicide to clarify relevancies of this literature for specific Indigenous communities, improve future research on this topic, and provide guidance for Native nations navigating this area of research. This work is part of an intensive research and cohort-building experience at UW Bothell that connects undergraduate students with graduate students, faculty, and staff across the UW, as well as local American Indian communities, for projects in American Indian and Indigenous Studies.
