Frances Lee on becoming a bridge person in precarious times

Cultural Studies alum Frances Lee (’18) has published a new essay, “Becoming a Bridge Person in Precarious Times,” through their Bainbridge Residency with The Seventh Wave. Lee asks, "As people who are called to do bridge work, how do we do so now, in the time of quarantine, global pandemic, and personal, communal and global grief?" Read their essay.

Frances Lee is an essayist, cultural practitioner and communications professional hailing from Texas. They are a trans and queer second generation Chinese American and currently lives and works on Suquamish and Duwamish territory (Bremerton and Seattle, WA). Their creative practices are animated by a deep inquiry into the everyday practices and norms that structure the stories we tell one another. Frances’ writing has appeared in Autostraddle, CBC The Sunday Edition, bitch media, and more.
