IAS students to present at the Mary Gates Undergraduate Research Symposium

IAS students Eli Nicholson, Jordan Fette, Noor Shahin, Kenleigh Weber, Daisy Wong, William Appel, and Angelica Luchetto will present their research at the Mary Gates Undergraduate Research Symposium on May 17, 2019.

The research projects include, Reconstructing the Silk Road: Exploring China's Economic Strategy, Investments and Political Affairs in Africa by Nicholson, Diversity and Abundance of Bee Species on the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College Campus by Fette and his collaborator Kristen Attenery, The Effect of Gender Norms on the Acculturation of Arab American Young Adults by Shahin, Yemen: Disastrous Civil War and U.S. Complicity by Paige, Conceptual Analysis of Yoga as Historical Trauma Treatment by Wong, Global Warming and Energy Conservation Knowledge in a University Population by Appel, and Algal Contributions to Nitrogen Flow in Spirit Lake by Luchetto and her collaborator Rachel Liu.

The students applied to present original research and have worked closely with IAS faculty mentors, Ben Gardner, Amy Lambert, Eric Stewart, Ron Krabill, Will Hartman, Martha Groom and Avery Cook respectively on independent studies and thesis research projects.
