Kari Lerum presents at Seattle City Council & The Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies (UW)
IAS faculty member and Seattle LGBTQ commissioner Kari Lerum recently presented the commission’s 2 year work plan to the Civil Rights, Utilities, Economic committee of the Seattle City Council. The video footage of Lerum along with two other LGBTQ commissioners can be seen starting at minute 54.
Lerum also recently presented preliminary findings from a survey of individuals in the sex trade at a seminar for the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies at UW Seattle. The survey, developed by the Coalition for Rights and Safety – for people in the sex trade in Seattle, includes data on how sex workers are impacted by current federal and local anti-prostitution and anti-trafficking laws.
