Masahiro Sugano commissioned by Washington Filmworks and premieres at the 44th Seattle International Film Festival
IAS faculty member Masahiro Sugano has been commissioned by Washington Filmworks to create a short film for the 2018 Fly Filmmaking Challenge which will screen at the 2018 Seattle International Film Festival. This year’s Challenge will explore why creativity matters and how creativity changes the world we live in for the better. Sugano and his media lab Studio Revolt has been chosen to create a short documentary specifically on visual artists. Sugano has selected four Tacoma-based artists to profile including Priscilla Dobler, Jeremy Gregory, Jason Holland and Kenji Stoll. The short film titled “Tacoma Uncubed” will debut at the 44th Seattle international Film Festival on Monday May 28, 2018 at Cinema Uptown Theater amongst the other commissioned works from the Fly Filmmaking Challenge. The film screens again on June 6, 2018 and the film festival runs until June 10, 2018.
