Alumni Shout Out!
Jennifer Gess (’07, Community Psychology) began an adjunct faculty position at Seattle University this spring. She is also a full-time professor for Walden University, and for both institutions, she teaches in their graduate counseling departments. Salem Levesque (’11, Cultural Studies) and co-author Butch de Castro were published in Public Health Nursing. Their paper “Using a digital storytelling assignment to teach public health advocacy” describes how digital story making can be utilized as an academic assignment to teach public health advocacy within an undergraduate nursing curriculum. Travis Sharp (’15, Creative Writing & Poetics) is a finalist for the Nightboat Poetry Prize. Sharp submitted his poetry book, which was revised from his graduate thesis “Love Poems to the Poet's Body.” Liz Theaker ('15, Policy Studies) joined the team at Camp Korey as their new Grants Specialist, where she's raising funds to support kids and their families living with life-altering medical conditions. Congratulations to all!
