Silvia Ferreira publishes in Journal of Arabic Literature

IAS faculty member Silvia Ferreira published “Confessions and Indiscretions: Translating the Self in the Southern Mahjar” in the latest issue of the Journal of Arabic Literature. The article explores the role of self-translation in the imagining of new immigrant subjectivities in mid-twentieth-century Brazil. It focuses on the Arabic and Portuguese autobiographies of a Lebanese immigrant in São Paulo.
