Karam Dana publishes and speaks on Palestinian identity and Muslims in America
IAS faculty member Karam Dana had a busy few weeks. His article, "Confronting injustice beyond borders: Palestinian identity and nonviolent resistance" was published in the Journal of Politics, Groups, and Identities. Dana was invited by the Muslim Studies Program at Michigan State University, in East Lansing, Michigan, where he gave two lectures, entitled: "Arab and Muslim Americans and the Politics of the 2016 US Election," and "Palestine and Palestinians in the 21st Century: Old Challenges and New Opportunities." Dana also participated in the 50th Middle East Studies Association's annual meeting that was held in Boston, Massachusetts. He chaired two panels that were titled: "Reproduction of Meaning in the Diaspora," and "Changing Spaces: Fluidities, Contests and Ruptures in the Mediterranean Basin."
