Charlie Collins publishes and speaks on civic engagement
IAS faculty member Charlie Collins published "Transforming social cohesion into informal social control: Deconstructing collective efficacy and the moderating role of neighborhood racial homogeneity" in the Journal of Urban Affairs. He also gave a talk at The Society for Community Research & Action Western conference on "A Process Model of Civic Engagement and Mobilization: From Uninformed and Disengaged to Agents for Social Change," along with collaborators Mariah Kornbluh (California State University, Chico) and Danielle Kohfeldt (California State University, Long Beach). At the same conference, IAS student Molly Miller gave a talk on the intersection of stressful life events and generalized anxiety disorder.
