Dan Berger Speaks at Slavery, Captivity, and the Meaning of Freedom Conference
IAS faculty member Dan Berger spoke at a conference entitled Slavery, Captivity, and the Meaning of Freedom at the University of California Santa Barbara. The conference brought together scholars in the fields of classics, American history, and African American studies for a comparative study of slavery and its afterlives in Greece, Rome, and the Americas. Berger’s lecture was called "Freedom as Method: Slavery, Prisons, and Insurgent Politics of Struggle."
