Dan Berger speaks on Captive Nation in Baltimore
IAS faculty member Dan Berger gave three talks in Baltimore based on his book Captive Nation: Black Prison Organizing in the Civil Rights Era. Berger gave a lecture at Goucher College on “Prisons, State Violence, and the Organizing Tradition.” At the annual meeting of the Social Science History Association, Berger participated in an “author meets critics” session about his book with professors Max Felker-Kantor, Sarah Haley, and Toussaint Losier. He also gave a book reading at Red Emma’s Bookstore Café.
