Kari Lerum Speaks on Feminism and Mad Max, Fury Road
IAS faculty member Kari Lerum recently spoke on a panel discussing the feminist potential of the sci-fi dystopian film Mad Max, Fury Road (2015). The panel — part of GeekGirlCon ’15 held at the Washington State Convention Center — included several leading voices in feminist popular culture analysis and attracted more than 500 attendees. Lerum subsequently published her thoughts on the film in Sexuality & Society in an article entitled “The sexual politics of Fury Road: Starring White feminism and good White men.”
