Alka Kurian Gives Talks Across the Continent in Spring 2015

This Spring Quarter, Alka Kurian gave four talks at different universities across the continent. On March 7, 2015, she spoke on “Rape as Punishment” at the South Asia Conference of the Pacific Northwest, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. On March 24, she presented a paper to celebrate Women’s History Month, “Gendered Armed Resistance in Asia”, at Westfield State University, Massachusetts. On March 25, she gave a talk on “Rape and the Body Gap: Narratives of Dissent in Bawandar and India’s Daughter”, Umass Boston, Massachusetts. And on May 14, Alka gave a talk on “Alternative Indian Cinema” for the International Cinema course, Seattle University.
