Christian Arciniega and Husky Herald News Team Honored by Club Council

The Husky Herald News Team was awarded with two top honors Thursday evening at the Club Council Recognition Banquet. The Husky Herald News Team, advised by IAS faculty member Kristin Gustafson, received the honor of the Rising Star Award. Clubs who earn this honor have taken great lengths to improve image, visibility and student engagement. For the Husky Herald News Team this meant the revival and rebuilding of the paper for both online and in print, which resulted in student contributions outside the Husky Herald staff. Club Officer of the Year went to Christian Arciniega, a double major in Global Studies and Media and Communication Studies, and the Husky Herald's editor in chief for her dedication and work leading the paper to successfully publish four issues after months of restructuring.
