IAS Environmental Studies students obtained 2nd place at regional GIS competition
IAS Environmental Science and Studies students David Headrick and Mattie Wheeler presented their research in the Richard ‘Dick’ Thomas Memorial Student Presentation Competition at the 2015 Washington State Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (WAURISA) conference. Headrick and Wheeler were mentored by IAS faculty members Santiago Lopez and Susan Waters. Their project built on a current research to test if site availability and spatial characteristics affect pollinator visitation rate within urban gardens in Seattle, Washington.
