Carrie Lanza contributes to Women Who Rock
A member of the Women Who Rock Collective, IAS faculty member Carrie Lanza co-produced the 5th Annual Women Who Rock unConference. This year's theme was "Rocking Media Justice" and the unconference featured an inter-generational roundtable discussion of media activists facilitated by the Women of Color for Systemic Change, which includes several current UW Bothell students. The event included a variety of performances and music and media skill shares. Preceding the unConference, Lanza presented her dissertation work at the annual Women Who Rock graduate mentoring session for feminist scholars of popular music, media and technology. This year's event featured visiting mentors, Anne Balsamo (The New School), Deborah Wong (UC Riverside), and Deb Vargas (UC Riverside) amongst an array of UW faculty.
