UWave Radio broadcasts World Radio Day
UWave Radio collaborated in a regional celebration of World Radio Day on February 13th titled "Celebrate Radio: The Big Power of Local New Low Power FM Radio Stations." The free event took place at the Seattle Public Library Downtown Branch, and brought together a cohort of regional non-profit and educational groups that will start broadcasting on the FM dial over the next 10 months. A coordinated live radio broadcast focused on the range of opportunities these new community media resources make possible, including multilingual broadcasting, grassroots local music programming, and facilitating student voice. The broadcast was carried by regional FM applicants that are already broadcasting online: Hallow Earth, Seattle University, and UWave Radio at UW Bothell. You can read media coverage of the event in the Ozy and the Seattle Globalist.
