Preparing to move out of housing
It’s always sad to see our residents move out, when the time comes we want the process to be smooth and stress-free. During spring quarter, Residential Life staff provides information regarding the year end move out process. This information includes making an appointment to check out, how to safely dispose of items and where to donate items.

Academic year move out
Student housing in Summit Hall and Forest Hall closes for the academic year on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12PM noon. More information will be emailed to residents in April 2025. Students living in Horizon Hall move out on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Give & go – a sustainable move-out program
Organized by the UW Bothell Office of Sustainability, the Give & Go move out program lets you conveniently donate items you don’t wish to take with you instead of disposing them in the trash. We accept non-perishable foods, clothing, and other common dorm supplies.
Give & Go helps you save time and money during move-out and is a great way to help promote equity and sustainability on campus. All donations will go back to incoming students in the fall.

Early termination
If you intend to move out of housing early and terminate your housing lease, you will want to thoroughly review your housing agreement in order to understand the financial penalties associated with breaking a lease. Additionally, it is important that you reach out to and work with Capstone Management before you move out and turn in your keys.
To terminate your lease, you must:
- Email Capstone Management at info@residentialvillage.com and tell them that you would like to terminate and complete the termination form they send you.
- Capstone will email you to confirm your move out date and will inform Residential Life of the move out.
- Please be aware that housing payments and termination fees will apply even if you have terminated your lease. Refer to your housing agreement.
- Follow the Express Checkout Process in order to avoid improper checkout fees.
