2020: The year of the coronavirus pandemic
One experience dominated 2020: The coronavirus pandemic that hit our region hard starting in the middle of winter quarter. Since then, it’s felt like all coronavirus all the pandemic time.
There have been endless variations on the theme: health care concerns, economic issues, UW’s pivot to remote operations, the dramatic move to teaching and learning online, and the persistence of UW Bothell students, faculty and staff — especially given the civil unrest also rolling through the entire country this year.
But despite all of this, our UW Bothell Community continues as teaching, learning, research, school projects and extracurriculars keep happening.
Below are some of our top stories of 2020, including many non-pandemic stories that serve as notice 2021, eventually, will be different.
We also encourage you to check recent awards and honors for the UW Bothell community. And, take a look at 30 photos from our 30th anniversary year.
