UPDATE: Suspended operations Feb. 13

After reassessing regional and campus conditions, UW Bothell suspends operations Wed., Feb. 13. No classes.

Husky Hall closed Feb. 13-14

Husky Hall will be closed Feb. 13-14 to remove snow accumulation on the roof. Officials will also inspect the roof to ensure it has not sustained damage during the recent winter storm.

All those who work in Husky Hall have been notified and alternate work arrangements have been made. For faculty and staff who need access to work critical work materials in your workspace, please let your supervisor know. We’ll group the requests and allow 2 -3 minutes of access to your workspace and your materials. Supervisors should contact Darren Branum and Adam Geoffroy through Campus Safety at 425-352-5359. They will schedule a time and location to access the building.

If you need assistance with computer equipment, including remote access, copy/print services, please contact IT at 425-352-3456.

For students, most functions regarding admissions, the cashier’s office or financial aid can be done online. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We anticipate the building will reopen on Friday, February 15. Please visit UW Bothell’s emergency page for further updates.

Late start Feb. 13

The UW Bothell campus will open at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Classes that begin before 10 a.m. are canceled. Please use caution walking and driving on campus.

UW Bothell (all locations) suspends operations on Tuesday, Feb. 12. UW Bothell leadershp will reassess conditions on campus tomorrow at 5 p.m.

Winter weather & classwork: A note from the vice chancellor

Dear UW Bothell students,

By now, the relief of having the extra time that a few snow days have provided has perhaps turned to anxiousness as you consider how you and faculty will make up lost class time. I think we are all eager for classes to resume and will do so when conditions are safe for travel to, and on, our campus.

Over the weekend, Chancellor Yeigh sent a note to the academic leadership asking them to work with faculty to make up lost class time. We’ve also asked our faculty to be flexible with students in making up assignments. We are mindful that most of you commute to campus, and we want you to be successful this quarter, despite this unprecedented winter weather.

We look forward to being back on campus with you soon. In the meantime, please use caution when traveling and stay safe!

UW Bothell closing early Friday; all weekend

UW Bothell (all locations) will suspend operations at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Classes and activities after 1 p.m. are canceled. Snow is expected to begin in the Puget Sound area around noon. We will be monitoring weather conditions throughout the weekend and will issue updates as needed.

Prepare for weekend snow

Another large scale winter snowstorm is anticipated to hit the Bothell area as early as this Friday morning, February 8. This event could possibly bring with it 6 to 12 inches of new snowfall to the area.

Above all, your safety is our top priority. We are implementing our inclement weather plan to ensure our campus facilities are safe and that essential functions are operating. If you see an area on campus that appears unsafe, please call 425-352-5466. Our crews will take care of it quickly.

Please take time to prepare for impacts to transportation, school and work.

• Prepare now to work at home if conditions prevent you from getting to campus. If you are classified personnel, talk with your supervisor to see if there is work you can do at home. If you use a computer for work, bring it home with you.
• Be prepared for a power outage at home. Now’s the time to stock up on batteries, food, prescriptions and fuel.

UW Bothell leadership will be monitoring conditions on the road and on campus during the storm. Road conditions vary throughout the region; use your best judgement when deciding whether to travel to campus. If the campus is closed or opening late, please don’t come in early. Campus closures are employed to keep you safe.
