Poems against pollution
As one of the most contaminated nuclear sites in the Western Hemisphere, the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in southeast Washington state had brought severe radical impacts to the local environment and Columbia River. One of the classes led by Dr. Iyer got involved with a community-engaged competition hosted by Dr. Cram and Hanford Challenge to illustrate the legacy of nuclear weapon waste in poetry.
Community-Engaged Learning and Research (CELR) provides several learning and research opportunities for UW Bothell students to collaborate with campus and community partners. The courses focus on creating hands-on, reflective, and skill-building experiences for students to apply theory to practice, develop professional experience, and contribute to the public good.
