Distinguished research award to McLoud-Mann

The University of Washington Bothell has selected Jennifer McLoud-Mann to receive the 2016 Distinguished Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity award. The associate professor of mathematics and colleagues made mathematics history and international headlines when they discovered a new type of convex pentagon to tile the plane.

UW Bothell wins inclusion award

University of Washington Bothell’s Office of Student Engagement and Activities won a national award for its work to support diversity and inclusion. The American College Personnel Association-College Student Educators International awarded the office the Voice of Inclusion team medallion for the IDEA project.

Students compete in analyst competition

A team of three University of Washington Bothell business students finished high in the annual competition organized by the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Seattle. The competition with five other schools came down to three finalists. The University of Washington Bothell team finished second, continuing a tradition of strong showings.

UW Bothell leaders win engineering awards

Two University of Washington Bothell leaders have been honored by the Puget Sound Engineering Council as top talents in the region. Elaine Scott, dean of the School of STEM, and Wendy Lawrence, a UW Bothell advisory board member, received their awards at a banquet at the Museum of Flight in Seattle on February 13. Scott was named 2016 Academic Engineer of the Year and veteran astronaut Lawrence was recognized for her many contributions to education.
