Students build Mars robot for NASA contest
UW Bothell’s Trickfire Robotics team is competing in the NASA Robotic Mining Competition May 22-26 at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The mission is to build a robot to mine ice granules on Mars for water people will need to survive on the Red Planet.

Representatives of more than 70 companies found nearly 400 students with resumes in hand Wednesday at the Spring Job and Internship Fair. The event was one of the biggest job fairs yet on campus. It took space in both the North Creek Events Center and the Activities and Recreation Center.

First hackathon in series targets campus garden
The first in a planned series of University of Washington Bothell community hackathons aims to make improvements at the garden sprouting on campus between the north parking garage and the sports fields. The Garden Innovation Challenge on April 21 is the work of the Hackathon Series Committee, a partnership of seven student clubs and organizations.

A team of University of Washington Bothell students is competing in the national finals for the Imagine Cup, the prestigious Microsoft software contest. Computing software systems seniors Darong Leng, Miyu Kimura and Shen Li are creating an “ultra-reality space” that allows people from different locations to interact using multiple devices.
