UW Bothell General Scholarships
Privately-funded scholarships are essential to UW Bothell’s ability to be competitive in attracting talented, high-achieving students who help to set the bar for academic success. And, just as important, scholarships help to ensure that higher education remains accessible to all qualified students, an important tenet of our core values.
Scholarships offer students the encouragement to excel in the classroom and the freedom to be involved in campus and community activities — important components of students’ future success, and part of the enriched environment that defines their experience as UW Bothell students.
Donor-funded scholarships have made a real impact on the lives of countless Bothell students, past and present. Check out some of our student stories below to learn more.

Sandra Martin Roberts Memorial Scholarship
One award of $1,000
The scholarship was created in recognition of Sandra Martin Roberts by her sister. Sandra was a joyful, wise, strong, generous person who did not have the opportunity to attend college earlier in her life, despite her aptitude and passion for learning. She grew up in poverty and found herself making many sacrifices to help her family survive, including giving up a full scholarship to college. She went on to become a proud mother of three, and right when she decided it was time to return to school to pursue higher education in order to become a teacher, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her dream to return to school is being passed on to someone who, like Sandra, possesses the drive and desire to learn and become credentialed despite challenging circumstances.
