A mother’s lessons live on

To commemorate her mother’s hardship in lifting the immigrant household, Felicity Abeyta strived for education and was dedicated to improving her Latinx community. Now an academic adviser in the Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) at the UW Bothell, Abeyta helps students build their identities and achieve their goals through storytelling shared by various Latinx-identified trailblazers of all kinds.

The Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) program is a cohort program supporting Latino/a/x students. Partnering with a local partner, Latino Education and Training Institute (LETI), UW Bothell students can explore the path to acquire leadership in their community while gaining valuable networking and civic engagement experience.
