My Story: Voting as a call to action for social change
Andy Walker-Tran appreciated NextGen Civic Leader Corps for allowing him to practice civic engagement and realize the importance of voting as the young generation. After participating in forming a worker union at Starbucks, He pointed out how voting enables young people to express their demand for change and how joining the NextGen Corps helps him connect with the campus and the communities.
NextGen Civic Leader Corps from the Office of Connected Learning encourages undergraduates to consider careers in government, nonprofit, and social venture organizations. The whole program focuses on experiential learning and professional network building as well as deepening students’ commitment to community engagement and public service.
