Now is the time to nominate University of Washington Bothell faculty and staff for distinguished teaching, research, service and leadership awards.
Deadlines are coming up for the Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA), Distinguished Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (DRSCA) award, Distinguished Staff Award and the David B. Thorud Award Leadership Award.
- The UW Bothell Distinguished Teaching Award is presented each year to a faculty member who inspires student excellence and success. The award comes with a $5,000 honorarium. The 2016 DTA winner was Janelle Silva, assistant professor of community psychology in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. Criteria and nominating details are available online. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 16.
- The UW Bothell Distinguished Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity award recognizes significant scholarly and creative accomplishments by faculty. It comes with a $5,000 honorarium. Last year’s winner was Jennifer McLoud-Mann, professor in the School of STEM engineering and mathematics division. Criteria and nominating details are available online. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 16.
- The University of Washington Distinguished Staff Award recognizes classified and professional staff members or teams whose exceptional performance supports the University of Washington mission. It comes with a cash award of $5,000. Criteria and nominating details are available online. The deadline for nominations is Nov. 30.
- The University of Washington David B. Thorud Award recognizes one faculty and one staff member who demonstrate exceptional abilities to lead. Winners receive a $2,500 award. Criteria and nominating details are available online. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 16.
