W Day on Friday celebrates what the University of Washington means for students, alumni and the wider community.
University of Washington Bothell students put the emphasis on the celebration with at a street party 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Campus Way in front of the ARC. Enjoy live music by Lions Ambition, W cupcakes from Trophy Cupcakes and free UW T-shirts (while supplies last). Plus food trucks, carnival games and a photo booth. Read all about it.
W Day is the culmination of Purple Pride week. Huskies show their true colors by wearing purple. Downtown Bothell rains purple as businesses and organizations join in the celebration by decorating their storefronts.
W Day is also launch day for the most ambitious fundraising campaign in UW history. The campaign kicks off with a high-energy multimedia experience called Together at 7 p.m. at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. It brings students, alumni, donors and the people and policymakers of Washington together to support the UW. There's still time to register.
W Day was established in 2011 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the University’s founding in 1861. The tradition lives on as a celebration of the UW’s birthday at homecoming. On Saturday, join the UW Bothell alumni, students, faculty and staff tailgating at Husky Stadium. Look for our tents in the E-1 parking lot. Register for tickets that cover BBQ, sides, snacks and Husky swag.
