The theme for this fall’s University of Washington Bothell Research in Progress series is community engaged scholarship. The seven seminars feature faculty engaged in mutually beneficial community partnerships.
Some of the presentations will include the community partners or students as co-researchers, says Kara Adams, interim director of office of community-based learning and research who is co-curator with Claire Fraczek, director of integrated learning.
As part of the series, special guest speaker Meredith Minkler, a leader in community-based participatory research, will be giving a workshop Nov. 18 about how she applies these methods.
The seminars are open to all interested faculty, students and staff as well as alumni and community partners. The aim of the series is to foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration and to increase awareness of current research by UW Bothell faculty.
