The Mr. Gyros food truck is busy serving hungry students twice a week at University of Washington Bothell.
The business operated by alum Sammy Arsheed took a blow March 9 when the Mr. Gyros shop in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood was one of three businesses destroyed in an early morning natural gas explosion.
The food truck wasn’t damaged in the blast, but its generator was in the store and destroyed. Despite the business disruption, the truck was back on the road after three days.
Serving up food Wednesday outside the Activities and Recreation Center, truck manager Connor Risden says business is good at UW Bothell. He says it serves 70 to 100 customers each day it’s on campus.
One student waiting in line said Mr. Gyros is a favorite.
“When it’s here it’s usually my first option for food,” she said.
