Members of the University of Washington Bothell campus are invited to a forum to discuss how hosting the Imagining America consortium could support community engagement and diversity and inclusion. The forum is 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in UW1, Room 361.
Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life is a national consortium of colleges that arose from a 1999 White House conference. It was originally hosted at the University of Michigan and is completing a 10-year residency at Syracuse University where it has been “pushing the boundaries of civic engagement in higher education.”
The proposal to host Imagining America at UW Bothell was developed by a faculty and staff working group. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affair Susan Jeffords said that a campus discussion is necessary to determine the potential benefits and drawbacks.
